Why we serve tea
It isn’t about the tea.
Or rather — it is, but only partly.
After every session, we make tea. Not from a box picked off a shelf, but from blends made by the Natural Health Market — our sister organisation, based just next door. Organically sourced, active ingredients only, made entirely on site. Everything in the cup is there for a reason. Nothing that isn’t.
But the reason we serve it isn’t really about the tea itself.
A session ends. The bowls stop, or the breath settles, or the guide falls quiet. And there is a moment — particular to this kind of stillness — where returning to the world feels slightly too abrupt. Where you need somewhere to be that isn’t quite inside the session and isn’t quite outside it either.
Tea does that. It gives you a place to land.
We make it, you sit with it, and for a few minutes there’s no particular reason to be anywhere else. No agenda attached to it. No sense that the hour is up and the space is needed for something else.
It is, in the end, just tea. But we think those few minutes matter.
