What to expect in a sound bath

This is for anyone who's curious but hasn't quite been able to picture it.

Before you arrive

There's nothing to prepare and nothing to bring. We provide everything you'll need — an air mattress, cushions and pillows to get comfortable, a blanket, and an eye mask if you'd like one. Wear something comfortable. That's all.

One thing worth knowing: it's common for body temperature to dip as you settle into stillness. The blanket's there if you'd like it.

When you arrive

You'll be shown straight to your mat and given time to settle in while we wait for everyone to arrive. There's no need to interact with anyone if you'd rather not. This time is yours from the moment you walk in.

The session

Once everyone has arrived, the curtains are drawn. The outside world stays outside.

We'll take a few minutes to welcome you and talk a little about crystal singing bowls — what they are, how they work, and what you might notice. Then a moment of quiet, and the sound begins.

The bowls play for around forty minutes. There's nothing you need to do during that time except lie still and let the sound do what it does. Some people find their mind quietens quickly. Others find thoughts come and go for a while before settling. Both are completely normal. Some people sleep.

When the playing stops, the room will be still. We sit together in that silence for a few minutes before you're gently invited to return.

Afterwards

There's no rush to leave. We'll share a quiet cup of tea — a moment to settle before stepping back into the day.

A note on time

Sessions always run to time. We know you have a life outside this room, and we respect that.

Anything else?

If you have a question before you arrive, you're welcome to get in touch. And if you'd simply like to see whether a sound bath is for you — the best way to find out is to come.
